Our Homeland

Kalavrita —
Where Freedom Was Born

The monastery of Agia Lavra stands as the cradle of Greek independence. In 1821, Bishop Germanos raised the banner of revolution here — igniting a flame that burns still in the hearts of Kalavritans everywhere.
